Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know to get started with KCShip

What is same-day fulfillment?

Orders placed before 5:30 PM are picked, packed, and handed to carriers the same business day. Orders submitted after 5:30 PM ship the next business day unless you request rush processing ($15 fee). This ensures fast delivery and keeps your customers happy with quick turnaround times.

What is the $100 deposit for?

The $100 activation deposit secures your warehouse space and is applied as KCShip wallet credit. It includes your first pallet storage space (40″ × 48″ footprint), dashboard access, and automatic tier upgrades as your volume grows. All future fulfillment costs are deducted from your wallet balance. This one-time non-refundable deposit ensures immediate service activation.

How do tier upgrades work?

Everyone starts at Tier 1 (0–250 orders/month). As your order volume grows, you automatically unlock better fulfillment rates. Tier 2 activates at 251–500 orders/month, and Tier 3 at 500+ orders. Your tier is recalculated monthly based on your last 30 days of order activity. Upgrades happen automatically — no action required.

Do you mark up shipping rates?

No. We charge true pass-through shipping — you pay exactly what USPS, UPS, and FedEx charge us. No markup. No hidden fees. We make money on fulfillment services, not shipping. You can also upload your own prepaid shipping labels at no extra charge.

What is bin storage vs pallet storage?

Pallet storage ($7.50/week) is for larger inventory stored on standard 40″ × 48″ pallets, up to 48″ tall. Bin storage ($2.50/bin/week) is for smaller SKUs like beauty products, accessories, apparel, or items that don't fill a full pallet. Each bin measures 11″ L × 4″ W × 4″ H. Bins are ideal for small-batch products that need organized shelf space.

Do you require contracts or minimums?

No. There are no long-term contracts and no monthly minimums. You pay only for the services you use. Scale up as you grow, or pause anytime — you're always in control. The only requirement is maintaining a funded wallet balance to cover fulfillment costs.

What does pick and pack include?

Pick and pack includes pulling your products from inventory, quality-checking the items, selecting the right packaging (poly mailers or boxes), packing securely with protective materials, printing shipping labels, and handing off to carriers. Multi-item orders include additional item fees (e.g., $0.30/item at Tier 1).

Do you accept prepaid shipping labels?

Yes! You can upload your own prepaid carrier labels at no extra charge. Many brands use their own negotiated carrier rates or third-party shipping platforms (ShipStation, Pirate Ship, etc.). We'll print and apply your labels during fulfillment.

What carriers do you use?

We primarily use USPS, UPS, and FedEx. You can choose which carrier to use per order, or let our smart system auto-select based on speed, cost, and package size. If you have your own carrier accounts or negotiated rates, you can provide prepaid labels instead.
